Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean: temperate Australia. Southeast Pacific: Galapagos Islands and off central Chile. Two subspecies are recognized, Nezumia loricata loricata from the Galapagos and Nezumia loricata atomos from Chile. The Chilean and Australian records suggest a broad temperate distribution across South Pacific.
