Diagnosis:   Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-10; Vertebrae: 26. A black ocellus on the posterior part of the first dorsal fin. Upper jaw thick and slightly extended. The cheek and upper portion of operculum scaled.
Biology: Found on fine gravel bottoms from estuaries to fresh water of rivers
