Biology: Freshwater and estuarine. Lacustrine, fluvial and anadromous forms exist (Ref. 593). Lives up to 13 years (6 in dwarf form). Feeds on zooplankton (mostly crustaceans), benthic animals (especially insect larvae and mussels, also algae) and insects from surface. (Ref. 59043)
