Distribution:	Africa: Coastal rivers in Ghana, upper reaches of the Oti River in Atakora, north Benin, Ogun River and Kaduna River in Nigeria. Reported from the Mono River, Togo (Ref. 28663).
Diagnosis:	Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Convex dorsal profile. Short barbel: anterior not reaching eye, posterior not reaching past eye middle. Lateral line slightly dipping (about half scale) below the dorsal fin. Scales of lateral bordered with black. Black longitudinal band. Dorsal and anal with 3 simple rays.
