Common names: [ No common name ] Ref:
Status: native Ref:
Salinity: freshwater
Regulations: no regulations Ref:
Uses: no uses
Comments: Known from five wetlands in the country only; the largest, Sham Chung marsh was destroyed in 1999. Still present in Sai Kung and in the vicinity of Tai Po, the stronghold of this species at present. Despite two additional populations discovered in the Tai Po district in 2001, the distribution is very limited and the species is critically endangered because most of its wetland habitat is unprotected and subject to high development pressure. Type locality, Sha Lo Tung, Tai Po (Ref. 42924).
