Distribution: Africa: Known only from type locality, Mano River in Liberia.
Diagnosis:   Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Cephalic pore lines visible on cheek and eyes. Anterior barbels reaching anterior half of eye, posterior ones reaching posterior border of eyes. Dorsal and anal both of 3 simple rays. Crescent shape band of melanophore on scales on and above lateral lines. 3 spots on sides: 1st on 6-7th scale, 2nd behind the vertical of the last dorsal ray and 3rd on the caudal peduncle. Ratio of distance (RDT) = between 2nd and 3rd spot and 1st and 2nd spots = 1.
Biology: Affinities: differs from other Barbus with it's very elongated body and 8 scales around caudal peduncle
