Diagnosis:   Dorsal spines (total): 8-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-10. Yellowish-tan ground color and small reddish spots and vermiculations on the upper half of the head and body. Lateral scale rows 48-52 and transverse scale rows 13-14 (Ref. 77038).
Biology: Found in a small (approximately 75 cm wide and 15 cm deep) circular pond among limestone rocks (Ref. 77038). Collected also at an elevation between 1500-2000 m in mountainous terrain (Ref. 77038)

Comments: Known only from two ares in southern drainages of Papua New Guinea, separated by a distance of approximately 240 km. Fish samples were collected from a small spring next to the Lubu River of the Kikori River system, located in hilly terrain, approximately 150 km upstream from the mouth of the Kikori River at an elevation of about 600 m (Ref. 77038).
