Distribution: Africa: only known from rivers of Nyanza Province in Kenya. Reported from Rwanda (Ref. 27628).
Diagnosis:   Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal soft rays: 6-7. Last unbranched ray of dorsal fin more or less flexible and without posterior denticulation; anterior barbel ending after half the eye, while posterior barbel ends after posterior side of the eye (Ref. 27628). Brown-silver or silver colored; fins not colored or light creamy; 3 little black spots on the flanks, the first between operculum and dorsal-fin origin, the second under dorsal fin and the third just before caudal fin (Ref. 27628).
