Biology: Inhabits brushy and vegetated, gravel-bottomed, sand-bottomed and mud-bottomed pools of creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294). Feeds on small fish (darters, madtoms, minnows), crayfish, and larger insects including dragonfly, mayfly, and stonefly nymphs (Ref. 10294)
