Comments: Found in high altitudes in Rivers Ko and Tan near Nha Trang, Annam. This has not been rediscovered since the collection of the types in 1936 ( Ref. 40772); even with extensive surveys done in 2000 and 2002 in the river, it was still not collected that the known populations are considered to be possibly extinct. Assessed as Critically Endangered in August 11, 2010, with 0-49 mature individuals, with extent of occurrence at 100-120 km², and an ongoing decline in quality of habitat. Further survey is needed within the type locality and possible range to confirm the continued presence and should be reassessed if further populations are found (Ref. 117882). .Also Ref. 12041, 26580, 39226.

Mjukstrålar i ryggfenan (totalt): 12; Mjukstrålar i analfenan: 8. Can be distinguished from any other nemacheiline by the presence of a strong processus dentiformis on both jaws and by anterior nostril pierced in front side of a pointed tube (Ref. 40772).

This species was collected from the upland streams (Ref. 117882). The ovaries of a 6 cm SL female contain ovulae about 0.8 mm in diameter (Ref. 39226).
