意見 Feeding consists of scooping mouthfuls of surface sand, often with a 'chewing' motion, and discarding most of it through the gill openings, presumably retaining the edible material. Rarely are they seen to pick up a small morsel apparently without sand. Individuals of a pair usually scoop sand alternately. When one looked up and released sand, the other scooped up sand (Ref. 34105).
