Family:  Histiophrynidae (Starfingered frogfishes)
Max. size:  19 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 145 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Endemic to southern Australia, from Beagle Islands, Western Australia to Kangaroo Islands, South Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A temperate (Ref. 7300) and benthic (Ref. 75154) species found inshore on reefs (Ref. 7300) but has been recorded from the continental shelf in depths greater than 145 m (Ref. 9563).
