Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin, in tributaries of the Ucayali, Amazon and Solimôes rivers from the Pachitea River to Tabatinga.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Eggs are deposited on the ceiling of caves and are tendered by the female parent (Ref. 47893).
