Diagnosis: |
Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5. Preserved color blackish on top of head and dorsal region merging to dark olive brown on sides; paler or yellowish ventrally; minute spots forms a dark margin to scales on sides; fin rays more or less dusky. Eyes with a narrow circular gelatinous lid. 8 (rarely 9) scales from nape to dorsal. 2.5 scales between origin of ventral and lateral line. Ventral axillary scale pointed, 1.5-1.75X in head. Minute pores usually cover the top of head. Short snout rounded equals eye or a seventh longer. |
