Diagnosis:  Description: no well-developed post-cleithral process; upper and lower jaw equal in length; toothplates on vomer and pterygoids of equal width (Ref. 75075).
Biology:  Inhabits lake Tanganyika at 20 to 110 m deep (Ref. 4967).
