Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 377 - 986 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: east coast of Florida and the Straits of Florida, and in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 8-10; Vertebrae: 49-52. Upper pectoral rays thickened and elongated and separated from lower rays; interior pelvic rays and lower caudal fin rays greatly elongated.
