Max. size:  103 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 11 kg
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 81 - 313 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific and Southwest Atlantic: Valdivia and Estrecho de Magallanes (Chile) to Argentina and the Falkland Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
