Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 35 - 200 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: North Carolina, USA and northern Gulf of Mexico to northern South America (Ref. 5217), Brazil and Uruguay (Ref. 47377).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found from bays and estuaries to the mid-shelf.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 22 August 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
