Family:  Bembropidae (Duckbill flatheads)
Max. size:  16 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 100 - 280 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: southern Japan, surrounding areas, Indonesia, and northwestern Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-23; Anal soft rays: 15-29. Lateral line sloping abruptly, descent occurring primarily in anterior half (Ref 12932).
Biology:  Found on the shelf and shelf edge on rocky bottoms (Ref. 11230).
