Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Yemen to Gulf of Oman.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 13-14. Pectoral fins short.
Biology:  Occurs in shallow water. Forms schools.
