Max. size:  26 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: widespread in the Congo River basin (Ref. 11970, 42019). Present in the Lake Tanganyika basin (Ref. 5331). Also in the Kouilou-Niari and Ogowe basin (Ref. 92841).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 10-12
