Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range - 59 m, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: northeastern Florida, USA and northern Gulf of Mexico to Bay of Campeche.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found primarily on sponge and coral bottoms. Feeds mainly on invertebrates (Ref. 9739).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 31 March 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
