Family:  Clinidae (Clinids)
Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 20 m
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: mouth of the Orange River to Algoa Bay, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 33-39; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-14; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 38-43. Silvery and semi translucent with 12 light brown saddles; whitish stripe on lateral line; brownish mottled lines on pinkish head; 2 white bars across pectoral base; other fins (except dorsal) hyaline (Ref. 5496).
Biology:  Found in coarse gravel areas of the intertidal zone; may be found up to 20 m depth in warmer waters.
