Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 1 - 3 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Persian Gulf to Pakistan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 9-10
Biology:  Gut content of a 6-cm specimen had two isopods and one hermit crab (Ref. 11441).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 19 July 2017 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
