Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: occurs only in the extreme upper Clinch and Holston River systems (in Tennessee River drainage) in Virginia and Tennessee, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits springs and rocky riffles of headwaters and creeks.
