Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Chrominae
Max. size:  6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 15 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea and the Gulf of Oman (and probably the coast between these two areas).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 12-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-15; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 13-14
Biology:  Adults are usually associated with the corals Stylophora pistillata, Stylophora wehisi, species of Acropora and Porites. Monogamous (Ref. 52884). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
