Max. size:  4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Agulhas Current, off east coast of Madagascar, in the Mozambique Channel (15°-21°S), and from southeast Asian seas northward to southern Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-15; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 13-15
Biology:  Oceanic and mesopelagic.
