Max. size:  5.96 cm SL (female)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 1000 - 2000 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Mauritius and Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal soft rays: 6-8; Vertebrae: 45-45. This species is characterized by eyes with small lens (lens diameter 2.2% SL), pouchlike; adipose fin present; origin of anal fin posterior to dorsal fin base; gill rakers 16-17 (= 5-6 + 1 + 10 -11) (Ref. 58272).
