Family:  Muraenidae (Moray eels), subfamily: Muraeninae
Max. size:  71 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 30 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Gulf of California to Peru, including the Galapagos Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Lives between rocks in littoral pools. Not frequently seen. Feeds on crabs, lobsters and mollusks and possibly on other soft-bodied invertebrates and fishes (Ref. 28023).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 24 May 2007 Ref. (130435)
