Family:  Monacanthidae (Filefishes)
Max. size:  60 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range - 140 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: southern Australia, from southern Western Australia to New South Wales and Tasmania.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults are found on deep offshore reefs down to about 140 m, while juveniles occur in estuaries and on coastal reefs (Ref. 9563).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 17 July 2017 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
