Environment:  bathypelagic; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: in subtropical waters.
Diagnosis:  Arising from the main barbel stem is a single-based branch, with many thinner, simple side filaments and the proximal filaments growing just distal to the branch origin. Solidly pigmented barbel stem between the origin and terminal bulb (Ref. 34246).
Biology:  Mesopelagic species (Ref. 559).
