Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil in Rio Solimoes-Amazonas, between lago Miuá (Codajás) and mouth of Rio Tapajós, and lower rios Trobetas and Tapajós.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-7; Anal soft rays: 7-9; Vertebrae: 26-27. Presence of whole opened sensory canals of head of adults.
