Family:  Macrouridae (Grenadiers or rattails)
Max. size:  12.3 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 547 - 591 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Hawaii.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2. Firm head inflated. Dorsally scaleless snout extend only to the level of lateral nasal angles. Orbit diameter about 32% of head length; short, blunt snout about 3/4 orbit, slightly less than interorbital; small barbel 1/4 orbit diameter. 1D II,13 (Ref. 11651).
Biology:  Benthopelagic (Ref. 58302).
