Occurs over muddy, sandy and rocky substrates (with slight preference for rocks), usually in water deeper than 3 m. Feeds on insects (both larvae and adults); small specimens also eat zooplankton, while large ones sometimes exclusively feed on fish (Ref. 35835). |
