Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: only known from the type locality: Louvisi River, tributary of the Niari-Kouiloun, Gabon (Ref. 81639).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-13; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Diagnosis: mouth more or less straight or only slightly curved; barbels absent; last unbranched dorsal fin ray strongly ossified and inflexible; pelvic fin inserts below middle of dorsal fin; 28-29 scales in lateral line (Ref. 81639). Description: body depth 25.0-28.8% SL; head length 23.7-25.0% SL; no papillae and tubercles around mouth; D: IV,10; A: III,5; scale formula: 5.5/28-29/-; 2.5; 11; 3.5 scales from lateral line to anal fin origin (Ref. 81639). Coloration: dark dorsally and light ventrally (Ref. 81639).
Biology:  Maximum TL was recorded at 15.8 cm (Ref. 2801).
