Family:  Rivulidae (Rivulines), subfamily: Rivulinae
Max. size:  4.35 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Orinoco River basin in Colombia.
Diagnosis:  Distinguished from all known species of Rivulus, by the combination of: (1) unusually deep body (average greatest body depth .250, (2) color pattern of 8-9 well-defined narrow lateral stripes running the length of the body, and (3) females only with a small, intensely pigmented, ocellated, egg-shaped rivulus spot (Ref. 26651).
Biology:  Not a seasonal killifish (Ref. 27139).
