Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  26 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine; depth range 1 - 30 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Baja California, Mexico and the Gulf of California to Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits coastal waters and lagoons (Ref. 9118). Feeds mainly on planktonic crustaceans (Ref. 9118). Common in local markets (Ref. 9118). Depth range assumed (RF).
