Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Rio Grande drainage in Texas and New Mexico, USA; south in Mexico to San Fernando River drainage.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sand and gravel runs of small to large rivers (Ref. 5723, 86798). Feeds on aquatic insect larvae dominated by midges (Ref. 10294).
