Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 2777 - 4438 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: in tropical waters; and questionably Northeastern Atlantic (Ref. 75592).
Diagnosis:  Snout not protruding beyond premaxillary symphysis (Ref. 37108).
Biology:  Adults probably bathypelagic or abyssal benthic (Ref. 51654).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 09 October 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
