Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 80 - 450 m
Distribution:  Northwestern Pacific: off Japan and Taiwan. Specimens collected from other places may represent other species.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 4-5; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 4-4. Irregular dark spots on dorsal surface (Ref. 6612).
Biology:
