Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Middle Tocantins River basin in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-14; Anal soft rays: 15-18; Vertebrae: 26-27
Biology:  Inhabits seasonal lagoons in a typical savannah area (Ref. 57947). Bottom spawner, ? months incubation (Ref. 27139).
IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (VU); Date assessed: 07 November 2018 (D2) Ref. (130435)
