Distribution:  South America: known only from the type locality, a seasonal lagoon near rio Canabrava of rio Tocantins basin in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-13; Anal soft rays: 15-17; Vertebrae: 27-27
Biology:  Inhabits seasonal lagoon in a savannah region (Ref. 57947).
