Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Nerophinae
Max. size:  16.15 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 28 - 30 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Honshu Island, Japan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in rock crevices or caves. Probably reaching 17-18 cm SL. Males mature at about 15 cm SL. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
