Max. size:  8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-oceanic; marine; depth range 70 - 100 m
Distribution:  Northwest Atlantic: Caribbean, off Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Gulf of Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-16; Anal soft rays: 18-18. Body moderately elongate and slender. Short, blunt, non-protrusible snout. Black in color (Ref. 37039). Chin barbel 2 to 2.5 times head length, unpigmented except at base (Ref. 37473).
