Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  62 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Mexico to Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits coastal waters, especially along sandy shores and lagoons (Ref. 9118). Feeds on polychaetes, crustaceans and mollusks (Ref. 9118). Common in markets (Ref. 9118).
