Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 754 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal soft rays: 7-8; Vertebrae: 35-36. Head relatively large than body; eye large. Branchiostegal rays 3. Ratio of caudal peduncle length to caudal peduncle depth less than 1.5 (Ref. 5123).
Biology:  The holotype which is about 9.5 cm SL is an adult bearing eggs (Ref. 5123).
