Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  4.163 cm SL (male/unsexed); 3.66 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: lower Lufira system (Ref. 98826), including ephemeral pools in the floodplain of the Lufwa River system (Ref. 53530), in Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-17; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 15-17. Deep bodied Nothobranchius (Ref. 53530). The snout is rounded (Ref. 53530). The mouth is terminal, directed upward (Ref. 53530). Ctenii are absent on the rays of the dorsal and anal fins (Ref. 53530). Number of scales on the median longitudinal line is 26-30 and 2-4 on caudal fin base (Ref. 53530). Most scales have a shallow pit in the centre, not connected with an underlying neuromast system (Ref. 53530); there are no ctenii on the body scales (Ref. 53530).
Biology:  Inhabits ephemeral pools with turbid water (Ref. 53530).
