Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: Known only from its type locality, a temporary pool in the floodplain of the Ruvu river, eastern Tanzania.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Bottom spawner, 3 months incubation. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).
IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened (NT); Date assessed: 23 December 2018 (B2ab(iii)) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
