Family:  Labridae (Wrasses)
Max. size:  23 cm SL (male/unsexed); 20 cm SL (female)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 5 - 40 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: known only from southern Queensland and New South Wales and Lord Howe Island.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A common coastal reef fish collected from 15 m but may occur much deeper than this (Ref. 26203).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 12 June 2008 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
