Max. size:  35 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 436.6 g
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Río Negro, Río Uruguay, Río de la Plata, Lagoa Mirim and Lagoa dos Patos system, Uruguay, Argentina, southern Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Scales in the lateral line series above the lateral band 52-60; and predorsal scales 28-35 (Ref. 47314).
Biology:
